Over the past 15 years, the principals of Gaseng Petroleum have provided a multi disciplined engineering Design & Construct service, specialising in the LPG and petrochemical industries. Projects have been undertaken either by Gaseng Infrastructure or associated entities.

This engineering work comes under the aegis of Gaseng Director Ian Cessford. An engineer with over 20 years in the oil and gas industry.

Recent projects included the following:

Christmas Island – New 2000mt diesel tank and associated infrastructure.
Scope: Design, gain mandatory approvals, materials expediting, construction supervision (including applying Quality Assurance to construction) and commissioning of a new 2000 mt Diesel tank and associated pumping to facilitate pumping to Power Station at a 300m elevation and through a 1.6Km pipeline, instrumentation & controls. Tank design was to British Standards (BS). Special bunding was required because of site constraints. Project included automation to suit remote pumping location and included fire protection (fire fighting platforms & ring mains).

Christmas Island – Complete Refurbishment of 2 x 400 tonne petrol tanks at Rocky Point.

Bulk solvents depot - Mobil Oil, Chipping Norton – Sydney.
Design and documentation of a Bulk Solvents Depot at Chipping Norton in Sydney for Mobil Oil Ltd consisting of 11 tanks: 5 above ground (mounded) and 6 underground, associated pumps (truck fill and drum fill pump sets), overhead pipe rack, 4 arm tank truck till stand, 4 x 200 litre drum pallet and conveyor, semi automated drum fill station, product blending tank, bunding, hazardous area wiring and lighting. This project also incorporated substantial programming of PC driven programmable Logic Controller Systems and specification, procurement, installation and commissioning of electrical and computing equipment and software.

LPG tank truck fast fill loading - Mobil refinery Port Stanvac, S.A

Engineering design and preparation of documentation for procurement for a semi- automated truck loading and unloading facility at Mobil's refinery in Port Stanvac - South Australia. The system encompassed 2 x loading bays with overhead loading arms capable of loading 3 x products; Automix, Propane and Iso Butane and back loading Iso Butane. Package included loading controls (visual display, operator punch-kilograms plus earthing and loading arm park permissive). Scope included; the design and programming of PC driven Programmable Logic Controller Systems, design and documentation, specifications for procurement, installation and commissioning of civil, mechanical, electrical and computing equipment and software and fire protection design.

LPG bulk ship unloading and truck loading facility - Shell Guam Inc. Guam.
Design and documentation of the bulk ship unloading and truck loading facility for the Shell Company in Guam. This included major design modifications and refurbishment of an existing 11.6 M dia. sphere, loading and unloading pump sets, truck loading and unloading gantry, cylinder filling platform (covered platform and 2 x platform scales) pipework, pipe supports and associated civil works including control room and cylinder filling.

LPG bulk storage terminal and cylinder filling plant - Shell Guam Inc. Saipan island, Micronesia.
Preparation of design engineering package and documentation for a gas depot in Saipan (Micronesia) for Shell Guam Inc. This facility provided for; ISO Container unloading into twin 20 tonne tank storage. Bobtail tanker loading from the storage tanks at a loading gantry (using same unloading / loading pump). A cylinder filling facility and platform, pump, pipework. Fire protection, light and power and controls.

Part of the fire protection of the depot included the conversion of the Fuels Dept fire pump to automatic start and additional pumps for specific fire water requirements.
